Happy Friday! I’ve decided to post some of my simpler patterns as free tutorials!
Lets start with a chocolate chip cookie.
- Tan felt
- Brown felt
- Tan and brown thread
- A small amount of polyester fiber fill stuffing
Step 1:Cut 2 identical circles from tan felt. Mine were approximately 3″ in diameter. It could be any size you wanted.
Step 2: Cut 3 or more circles out of brown for chocolate chips. These were around 1″ in diameter. Remember, the shape does not need to be perfect as chocolate chips certainly don’t melt perfectly round.
Secure the thread and use a running stitch around the circumference.
Step 3: Gently pull the thread so that the circle gathers in the middle. Secure this way. The image shows the underside of 1 chocolate chip.
Step 4: Using small stitches, secure the chocolate chip to one side of the cookie. Repeat for 3 chips or as many as you wish.
Step 5: Backstitch the two tan circle together, keeping the “good” chip side on the inside. Leave 1.5″ unstitched. Turn inside out.
Step 6: Stuff lightly with a small amount of polyester fiber fill distributed evenly.
Step 7: Turn the unsewed edges towards the inside.
Using tiny stitches, sew the remaining opening closed.
